StandardAero is able to offer extensive in-house component repair & overhaul (CRO) capabilities for the CFM International LEAP-1A and LEAP-1B through our dedicated Component Repair Services (CRS) team. As the first CFM LEAP Premier MRO provider in the Americas appointed for both the LEAP-1A and LEAP-1B engines, StandardAero works closely with CFM International and its constituent partners to develop component repairs for the LEAP family, and our CRS team already has over 350 LEAP repairs which are FAI (first article inspection) ready or active repairs.
Following StandardAero’s entry into the LEAP open MRO ecosystem in March 2023, our investment in standing up a full engine maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) line in San Antonio, TX, was accompanied by establishment of a dedicated Repair Development Center of Excellence (RDCoE) as the focus of our LEAP repair development activities.
StandardAero has invested significant capital expenditure in developing new repair technologies in support of the LEAP family, benefitting the global LEAP operator base. Areas of focus for this investment have included CAPEX focus on new technologies, automated painting, surface prep and inspection, and streamlined data collection.
All of our LEAP CRO efforts have been undertaken in close coordination with CFM International and its partner companies, thereby ensuring that the development of new repairs are correctly prioritized. With experience on over 60 different engine types, StandardAero’s CRS team has a well-proven new product introduction (NPI) process, maximizing delivered quality while minimizing development time.
