February 26, 2009 – Rear Admiral Tony Johnstone-Burt, Commander Joint Helicopter Command, visited Vector Aerospace Helicopter Services Fleetlands on Thursday 26th February. His mission was to present the Combined Boeing/Vector Aerospace Chinook Depth Maintenance Team at Fleetlands with a certificate of commendation in recognition of exceptional service to the Joint Helicopter Command.
The Fleetlands facility provides deep maintenance, repair and overhaul for the UK MoD’s Chinook, Lynx and Sea King helicopters. The commendation was a recognition of the Chinook Depth Maintenance team’s continuing efforts in supporting the Chinook fleet which have resulted in the increasing availability of aircraft since the Through Life Customer Support programme began in May 2006.
