Tempe, Ariz. – July 20, 2009 – StandardAero, a Dubai Aerospace Enterprise (DAE) Company, has received Supplemental Type Certificate (STC) Organization Designation Authorization (ODA) at its Springfield, Ill. location from the Chicago Aircraft Certification Office. This designation enables StandardAero to approve design data, tests, and analysis as well as make a finding of compliance to the regulations allowing them to sign a STC on behalf of the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) for aircraft alterations.
As part of this ODA, StandardAero utilizes a team of experienced engineers, technologists, pilots and other industry professionals, allowing them to provide design and certification services leading to the issuance of STCs for alterations and modifications on a broad range of aerospace products. These include complete interiors, engine retrofits, airframe modifications, cabin entertainment systems, glass cockpits and other major avionics upgrades.
An alternative to FAA-direct certification services, StandardAero will be able to deliver considerably shorter STC certification times – from 45-60 days – dramatically reducing down time. The new Organization Designation Authorization is not tied to an FAA Repair Station allowing StandardAero to perform certification work on aircraft that are not in its hangars in Springfield as well as customers in approved facilities anywhere around the world.
StandardAero, a Dubai Aerospace Enterprise (DAE) company with $1.4 billion in annual revenue, specializes in engine maintenance, repair and overhaul, and nose-to-tail services that include airframe, interior refurbishments and paint for business and general aviation, air transport, and military aircraft. The company, part of the DAE Engineering division, forms a global services network of 12 primary facilities in the U.S., Canada, Europe, Singapore and Australia, with an additional 14 regionally located service and support locations.
