StandardAero Signs Service Agreement with Russian Regional Carrier, Ak Bars Aero for Fleet Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul

Tempe, Ariz. – August 23, 2011 – StandardAero announced today that it has signed a service agreement with Russian regional carrier, Ak Bars Aero, for the maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) of the fleet’s General Electric CF34-3B1 engines and Honeywell GTCP36-150RJ Auxiliary Power Units (APUs). The engines and APUs power Ak Bars Aero’s fleet of CRJ200 aircraft.

The agreement was signed in July with all engine work being performed at StandardAero’s CF34 engine facility in Winnipeg, Canada, and APU MRO being conducted at the company’s Maryville, Tenn., location.

Ak Bars Aero formerly Bugulma Aviation Enterprise is part of the Ak Bars Holding Company OJSC. Ak Bars Aero owns a fleet of 16 aircraft consisting of the Yak-40 and CRJ-200’s. In April 2011 Ak Bars Aero, based in the Republic of Tatarstan, received its 7th CRJ200 aircraft. The network includes major cities of Russia such as Moscow, Saint Petersburg, Kazan and Surgut. The airline operates also international scheduled and charter flights.

Ak Bars Aero is the partner airline for the 2013 venue of the All-Russian Rhythmic Gymnastics Tournament to be held in Kazan, Tatarstan.
