StandardAero Signs Rolls-Royce Agreement to become North America’s first independent RR300 Engine Authorized Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul Center (AMROC)

Tempe, Ariz. – December, 18 2013 – StandardAero announced that it has finalized a license agreement with Rolls-Royce to become North America’s first independent Authorized Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul Center (AMROC) on the RR300 engine. This contract finalizes the announcement earlier this year that StandardAero was selected by Rolls-Royce, pending agreement of terms. In addition, StandardAero already has inducted three RR300 engines at the company’s Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada repair facility.

“StandardAero has always been a leader in the light helicopter MRO market,” said Manny Atwal, Vice President, Helicopters, StandardAero. “Our leadership on Rolls-Royce M250 engines will immediately benefit RR300 operators of Robinson R66 helicopters. We are excited to deliver the same level of quality, customer service and engine expertise on this new engine line. Our first three inductions, immediately after signing the agreement, demonstrate the readiness and capability to expand our services real time.”

Rick Stine, Senior Vice President, StandardAero, also commented on the importance of the agreement, underscoring its significance from the standpoint of customer service and support assurance, to both OEM and operator. “We are a trusted partner of Rolls-Royce and the first independent MRO shop in North America to provide RR300 MRO services. Thus we have a duty and obligation to Rolls-Royce and operators of this engine to ensure their needs are met and expectations exceeded.”

“We are continually seeking new ways to improve support for operators and the expanded maintenance network will help RR300 customers find efficient and affordable support,” said Hubert Brown, Director of Helicopter Services for Rolls-Royce. “We welcome StandardAero to the RR300 program and look forward to many years of supporting our customers.”

The license is in place until December 31, 2021. StandardAero will begin to develop a RR300 StandardAero/Rolls-Royce service center network beginning January 2014. This will provide operators with geographic engine MRO sales & service support.

The work will be performed in Winnipeg’s Helicopter Programs Plant where the RR300 production line will parallel the M250 production line. A similar agreement is in process for StandardAero’s Singapore facility. The agreement signed earlier this month makes StandardAero one of only six planned AMROCs. The RR300 powers the Robinson R66 helicopter.
