StandardAero Responds to Increasing Demands for Aircraft Pre-Purchase Inspections/Evaluations

Orlando, Fla. – October 20, 2014 – StandardAero continues to experience a steady demand for used aircraft Pre-Purchase Evaluations in the business aviation marketplace. The company has averaged more than 60 pre-purchase evaluations over the last two years.

“The pre-owned aircraft market has been very active this year and we continue to see an increase in requests for pre-buy inspections,” said Lane Clapsaddle, Broker/Dealer Sales Manager for StandardAero. “Along with pre-buys, there has been a significant demand for upgrades, such as interior refurbishment, paint and avionics in used aircraft transactions.”

StandardAero has experienced strong demand for pre-purchase evaluation for heavy aircraft including Falcon 2000, Falcon 900, Challengers and Globals. More recently, there is a mix of demand for newer aircraft (less than 10 years old) and older aircraft (20 plus years old), with the newer aircraft the most active segment. Additionally, the company is seeing an uptick in Hawker 800 activity as well as Lear 45 and Lear 60.

The trend to install upgrades at the time of the aircraft changing hands is also increasing – most specifically with cabin WI-FI installations, interior refurbishing, avionics and paint.

A typical pre-purchase inspection takes an average of 10 days and includes a thorough evaluation of the aircraft for general condition, fuel leaks, systems operational checks and a records review.

In addition to providing unbiased, objective, third party pre-purchase evaluation services, StandardAero provides nose-to-tail maintenance capabilities to both sellers and buyers of used aircraft.
