Las Vegas, Nev. – October 10, 2011 – StandardAero Business Aviation announced today that it has received parts manufacturing authority (PMA) for the Falcon 900C/EX Primus Elite Avionics upgrade program. The PMA authorizes StandardAero to build and resell the wiring harness needed to install Primus Elite™. StandardAero is currently the only MRO provider that has completed Primus Elite installations for F900C/EX. With the additional PMA authority for the wiring harness StandardAero can pre-built and test harnesses prior to aircraft induction, thus reducing downtime and cost to the customer.
“Today’s announcement is of strategic importance to StandardAero’s industry leadership and provides a huge benefit to our customers in both cost and convenience,” said Jeremy Thomas, Avionics Product Director, StandardAero Business Aviation. “This capability allows us to further optimize our process and reduce downtime for owners that are upgrading their Falcon 900 flight decks to Honeywell’s Primus Elite displays. In addition, we are able to provide our customers with a level of expertise not available elsewhere due to our unique position as the only independent MRO provider that has completed installation of this avionics upgrade.”
StandardAero is authorized to perform a full range of avionics modifications and upgrades at any of its four MRO facilities in Springfield, Ill., Augusta, Ga., Los Angeles and Houston, Texas.
StandardAero was the first to install the F900C/EX Primus Elite upgrade in March 2011 and owns the STC.
Primus Elite’s functionality includes XM graphical weather, Jeppesen electronic charts and maps, and video displays through a cursor-driven, on-screen interface. The high-resolution graphics rendered by the Primus Elite displays are designed to support future features such as Honeywell’s SmartView™ synthetic vision system.
