StandardAero Receives Third Party Certification for its Environmental Management System (EMS) as a Global Enterprise, Meeting ISO 14001 Standard

Tempe, Ariz. – November 15, 2011 – StandardAero announced today that it has received third party certification for its Environmental Management System (EMS). The certification is in accordance with the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 14001:2004 standard for Environmental Management Systems and covers StandardAero’s global service network of 13 primary facilities in the U.S., Canada, Europe, Singapore and Australia, plus sales and field service locations.

The StandardAero Enterprise Environmental Management System (EMS) is the first third party certified global system of environmental protection and performance to be employed by a global aviation service provider. The system is expected to yield significant environmental performance improvements including reduced resource requirements and waste generation throughout the service production cycle. Additionally, the enterprise EMS will result in reduced environmental liabilities for all stakeholders driving “best in class” performance in all categories.

“We have been focused on environmental performance for many years across individual sites and functional areas. Now we have achieved an enterprise-wide environmental platform which, given the global footprint of StandardAero’s support network, means we now drive environmental performance systematically throughout the world,” said Brian Skrobarcek, Corporate Director, Environmental Affairs, StandardAero. “All of our customers – current and potential – benefit from this level of protection and performance in the aviation industry. Our customers can rest assured that the maintenance and production of their aviation products are managed within a system where environmental protection and sustainability are paramount.”

The EMS certification is for a period of three years. The scope of StandardAero’s EMS is the most comprehensive in the industry and includes: the repair and overhaul of gas turbine engines, general, business, airliner class aircraft, accessories, avionics, structural maintenance, interior completions and associated field services. The EMS also includes office based consulting services and programs, providing solutions for improving the productivity, cost-efficiency, support and training of external and internal MRO operations.
