StandardAero Partners with FDS to Provide Entertainment via Wireless Streaming

Scottsdale, Ariz. – April 13, 2016 –StandardAero has announced a strategic alliance with FDS Avionics Corp. (FDS) to bring the next generation of in-flight entertainment (IFE) to today’s business aircraft market. The centerpiece of this collaboration is the do CAPSULE™, a state-of-the-art wireless streaming media platform developed by FDS. do CAPSULE will provide StandardAero customers the most advanced wireless entertainment system available on the market today.

do CAPSULE is the core of the do EXPERIENCE™, a comprehensive array of IFE options including movies, music, TV shows, photos and business productivity tools. Passengers can stream entertainment to tablets, laptops and smart phones – any device with iOS, Android or Windows operating systems.

“do CAPSULE truly complements StandardAero’s cabin interior refurbishment and cabin management upgrades capabilities. Not only does do CAPSULE offer fully licensed and DRM compliant content, the ease of installation also allows for do CAPSULE to be installed at any of StandardAero’s four locations: Houston, TX, Los Angeles, CA, Springfield, IL, and Augusta, GA,” said Jerry Sanders, Director of Avionics for StandardAero Business Aviation.

Rounding out the do EXPERIENCE is do360™, the industry’s only flat rate subscription service for fully licensed entertainment content. do360 offers a rich spectrum of content including movies, TV shows, music, books, magazines and games.

do Capsule comes standard with do2D™, an interactive, high-resolution moving map. Customers have the option of upgrading to a more immersive map experience with do3D™. This richly detailed map allows passengers to explore their surroundings in three dimensions using tablets, laptops and smart phones.

“We are passionate about enhancing the cabin experience for business jet passengers,” said Reed Macdonald, FDS’ Chief Executive Officer. “StandardAero’s global presence and trusted capabilities create a perfect partnership. We are excited to work together to bring the best IFE technology to the market.”

StandardAero and FDS anticipate this new system will be compatible for Falcons, Challengers, Hawkers, Learjets or any other type of business aircraft looking for highly detailed moving map and entertainment functionality.
