StandardAero ODA Receives STC Approval for Falcon 900C/EX Primus Elite Cockpit Display from Brazilian Civil Aviation Authority

Tempe, Ariz. – July 24, 2013 – StandardAero Business Aviation announced that its ODA (Organization Designation Authorization) has received Brazilian approval of their Honeywell Primus Elite (DU-875) STC (Supplemental Type Certificate).

Approval of the STC by ANAC (Administración Nacional de Avianción Civil) follows the approval by Transport Canada with EASA (European Aviation Safety Agency) approval expected soon. The STC approves the installation of the aging CRT (Cathode Ray Tube) cockpit displays on Falcon 900C/EX aircraft with modern, state-of-the-art, LCD (Liquid Crystal Display) displays.

StandardAero developed the original STC (ST02837CH-D) in March, 2011 and was the first maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) provider certified to perform the installation of Primus Elite on Falcon 900C/EX aircraft. The Primus Elite installation can be performed at any one of StandardAero’s four MRO facilities in Springfield, Ill., Augusta, Ga., Los Angeles, and Houston, Texas, which are also Authorized Service Centers for the Dassault Falcon family of aircraft.

“Our close alignment with Honeywell on the original development of this new STC has resulted in an array of operational and safety enhancements for Falcon 900C/EX owners,” said Scott Taylor, Senior Vice President, Business Aviation, StandardAero. “With the approval of this STC by ANAC, this flight deck upgrade and its capabilities are extended to Brazilian operators as well.”

Primus Elite supports integration of paperless electronic charts and maps, video displays and optional XM® graphical weather, enabling greater route planning and weather avoidance, through a cursor-driven, on-screen interface. The high-resolution graphics rendered by the Primus Elite displays are designed to support future features such as Honeywell’s SmartView™ synthetic vision system.
