StandardAero Names Chad Kaatz Director, Engineering for Helicopters Business

Tempe, Ariz. – February 25, 2013 – StandardAero’s Helicopters business headquartered in Winnipeg, Canada has announced Chad Kaatz as Director of Engineering. Kaatz will be located in Winnipeg but will support all of StandardAero’s global Helicopter locations, including the company’s three Canadian locations in Winnipeg, Vancouver and Montreal, as well as Charlotte, N.C., Sydney, Australia and Singapore.

“Chad brings key strategic leadership to the Helicopters Engineering role,” said Manny Atwal, Vice President, Helicopters, StandardAero. “Chad has over a decade of experience in the Heli industry and with his leadership and technical expertise, he will serve as a key contributor in delivering the best quality product to our customers. Our Helicopters business unit has the largest group of Professional Engineers dedicated to supporting the MRO of Rolls-Royce M250 engine in the world. It’s part of our dedication to performance and quality excellence for the industry.”

Kaatz will be responsible for implementing the Helicopters business’ Optimal Build Standard which improves engine performance in the helicopter via improved temperature margins and fuel consumption. In addition, Kaatz will lead all engineering technical support and oversee the delivery of specialized engine repairs, saving Helicopters’ customers money during the engine MRO process.

Prior to joining StandardAero Kaatz served at Boeing Canada. Kaatz holds a Bachelor of Engineering (Honors) degree in from the University of Manitoba and a Program Management Professional (PMP) designation.
