StandardAero Delivers First GE90-115 Fan Case Module from Cincinnati Component Repair Facility

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz.September 25, 2019 –  StandardAero Component Services, located in Cincinnati, Ohio, recently shipped its first GE90-115 engine fan case module (FCM) unit for one of its airline customers.  The GE90-115 FCM is one of the largest aircraft engine components in the industry and the GE90-115 is one of the world’s largest jet engines, powering Boeing 777 aircraft.

“Our team implemented a very creative solution to accelerate our ability to support our customer’s requirements,” said Rick Stine, President of StandardAero Components, Helicopters and Accessories.  “Working with both the local OEM and customer to eliminate long-lead tooling delays was one of the keys to our successful completion of the FCM and we anticipate winning additional volumes of work from more customers.”

An appointed team from StandardAero visited the customer’s European facilities in May of this year to review the repair process of similar FCMs.  After the review, the team of technicians returned to Cincinnati to design, build and order all tooling and fixtures needed to support the repair process.  The team then worked with the local FAA office to add the module repair workscope to StandardAero’s Cincinnati capability list.  StandardAero then performed 100% all the disassembly, inspections, repairs and assembly and shipped its first GE90-115 FCM 15 days ahead of the customer requested date.

“StandardAero worked very closely with the customer throughout the entire industrialization phase.  Open communications, great coordination and periodic on-site review led to strong teamwork to meet customer expectations for delivery and quality of the FCM,” Stine added.
