StandardAero Business Aviation and Associated Air Center Bring a ‘Century of Service’ and Key Industry Milestones to EBACE 2011

Geneva, Switzerland – May 17, 2011 – StandardAero’s Business Aviation and Associated Air Center (AAC) teams come to this year’s European Business Aviation Convention & Exhibition (EBACE) show in Geneva, Switzerland, commemorating the company’s 100th year of service to the aviation industry and celebrating AAC’s position as the volume leader in Boeing Business Jet (BBJ) completions.

As part of this year’s show in Geneva, Switzerland, StandardAero will be celebrating its growth and achievements over the past one hundred years. Originally founded as Standard Machine Works in Winnipeg, Canada in 1911, StandardAero has grown into one of the world’s largest independent, maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) companies. The company’s diverse, yet complementary, support capabilities includes business aviation MRO and completions, large transport VIP aircraft completions, components repair, commercial and military aircraft engine MRO and a full line of engineering services.

“Despite continued challenges for general aviation markets everywhere, StandardAero brings an optimistic business outlook for the remainder of 2011 and beyond,” said Jack Lawless, Chief Operating Officer, StandardAero and President, Associated Air Center. “AAC, our Large Transport Category, VIP Aircraft Completions Center, continues to ramp up its business bookings while our Business Aviation sector is expanding its service network throughout Europe – and all of this as a complement to our ‘Century of Service’ 100th Anniversary celebration.”

“StandardAero Business Aviation has had an excellent year and many exciting announcements are on the horizon,” said Scott Taylor, Senior Vice President, Business Aviation, StandardAero. “StandardAero Business Aviation continues to increase its presence throughout the European, Middle East and Africa markets by actively partnering with global service centers to support their engineering and FAA/EASA certification efforts, as well as provide field service support and quick turn repairs. One example of this is the strengthening of our European Service Center in Tilburg, The Netherlands, to provide MRO services for Pratt & Whitney, PT6, PW100 and PW600 customers.”

Underscoring its re-emergence as a global VIP completions center, AAC recently delivered its twentieth and twenty-first BBJ completions since becoming a BBJ Approved Completion and Service Center in 1998. StandardAero’s Business Aviation team continues to support their customers with its recently-issued Supplemental Type Certificate (STC) replacing aging CRT cockpit displays with Honeywell’s state-of-the-art, Primus Elite (DU-875) display, on Falcon 900C/EX aircraft, as well as providing a network of support to European customers while visiting the U.S.

StandardAero is one of the world’s largest independent providers of services including engine and airframe repair and overhaul, engine component repair, engineering services, interior completions and paint applications.
