StandardAero Blazes New Trail for Business Aviation with Honeywell JetWave™ Ka band STC on Falcon 50/900 Aircraft

Scotsdale, Ariz. – November 30, 2016 – StandardAero is blazing the trail into the future by achieving Supplemental Type Certificates (STCs) for the first global high-speed broadband connectivity solution available in today’s business aviation marketplace. Working with Honeywell’s new JetWave™ Ka band system, StandardAero has completed an STC for Falcon 900/B/C/EX and Falcon 50 series aircraft. The multi-model STC for the new Honeywell JetWave Ka band Satcom System was fitted for a Falcon 900EX operator. In addition, required documentation has been submitted for EASA validation.

StandardAero continues to pioneer industry-leading connectivity solutions and is aligned with the new Ka band technology partners to provide operators even better ‘internet in the sky’ technology programs to enhance connectivity for domestic and international operators. JetWave is the exclusive hardware that connects business jets to Inmarsat’s Global Xpress (GX) Ka band satellite network, providing Jet ConneX service to the cabin.

“New Ka band technology gives business jet operators on-the-ground speeds around the globe without having a patchwork of service providers,” said Marc McGowan, President of StandardAero Business Aviation. “We look forward to making additional announcements with this technology in the very near future. In addition to emerging Ka band technologies, we’re also seeing a lot of customer interest and activity for faster WiFi services via new air-to-ground (ATG) systems from Gogo Business and SmartSky,” McGowan added.

StandardAero is aligned and authorized by the vast majority of cabin management and connectivity manufacturers, offering a broad variety of installation options for business aviation customers. In addition, through its in-house Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Organization Designation Authorization (ODA) delegation, StandardAero is a leading provider of Supplemental Type Certificate (STC) approvals for avionics and cabin management systems.
