|Tempe, Ariz. – May 8, 2013 – StandardAero announced that it has been awarded a $30M contract to provide T56A-16 engine overhaul for the Japan military. The contract is awarded through the U.S. Navy’s Foreign Military Sales (FMS) program.|

The engines will power six KC-130R aircraft which are currently being procured by the government of Japan. The KC-130R aircraft are used for air-to-air refueling and had previously been retired to the Aerospace Maintenance and Regeneration Group (AMARG) – “Boneyard” at Davis-Monthan AFB, in Tucson, Ariz.
The aircraft will be overhauled at Hill AFB in Ogden, Utah, while the T56 engines will be restored to “like new” condition by StandardAero at the company’s San Antonio, Texas and Winnipeg, Canada MRO facilities. The contract is expected to be completed in July, 2014.
