StandardAero and Swiftair Celebrate 100th PW100 Engine Repair Delivery

Tempe, Ariz. – July 8, 2014 – StandardAero celebrated the re-delivery of its 100th PW100 engine serviced for Swiftair during a recent celebration at Swiftair headquarters in Madrid, Spain.

A private company, Swiftair was established in 1986. The airline has more than 400 employees and a fleet of more than 30 aircraft, which includes Boeing 737 and MD83, ATR72/42, Embraer 120 and Metroliner aircraft. Swiftair operates scheduled and charter, passenger and cargo flights in Europe, North Africa and the Middle East. The 100th engine serviced represents a significant milestone since the two companies established their partnership in the year 2000.

“Over the past 14 years we have been the main PW100 service provider for Swiftair and during this long term relationship we have seen them grow to become one of the largest ATR operators in Europe,” said Laurens Leijten, StandardAero Swiftair Program Manager. “The key to their success lies in their flexibility and ability to quickly adapt to this demanding and dynamic market for transportation of both passengers and cargo.”

StandardAero’s flexible, customized maintenance agreements provide Swiftair with engine MRO and Fleet Management services from its European Service Center (ESC) located in Tilburg, Netherlands. StandardAero’s ESC serves as the company’s main gateway for providing European customers with services for PW100, APU and LRU maintenance, repair and overhaul from anywhere in the world.

“We are proud to present European customers like Swiftair, our one-stop shop concept that provides total solutions from engine spares and accessories to maintenance and overhaul work scopes — throughout our global network,” said Alain Berube, Vice President & General Manager, Turboprop Programs, for StandardAero Airlines & Fleets.

The 100th PW100 engine was re-delivered after servicing at StandardAero’s Winnipeg Designated Overhaul Facility (DOF) location from which engines are frequently re-routed from the Tilburg and delivered to customers with industry leading quality and turnaround time.
