StandardAero Among First to Perform High-Mach Blended Winglet™ Installations on Falcon 900EX

Las Vegas, Nev. – Oct. 10, 2011 – StandardAero Business Aviation, one of the world’s largest independent maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) companies and a Falcon Jet Authorized Service Center, announced today its first installation of FAA-certified High-Mach Blended Winglets™ on a Falcon 900.

In partnership with Aviation Partners, Inc. (API), StandardAero’s Springfield, Ill., facility is currently outfitting a Falcon 900EX, with the High-Mach Blended Winglet™ scheduled for delivery in early November. The aircraft is also receiving airframe, paint and avionics work from the service center while on the ground for the installation.

The API Winglet design is optimized for cruise speeds of Mach .80 and higher, which increases the range of flight by five to seven percent and allows aircraft to climb much faster and to higher initial cruise altitudes. In addition to the modernized aesthetic enhancements to the Falcon 900, the Winglets also reduce overall jet fuel consumption and emissions.

“High-Mach Blended Winglets™ are an important addition to our extensive CompleteCare™ scope of services, and our Falcon experience and expertise enables us to provide comprehensive MRO services for the F900 owner,” said Scott Taylor, Senior Vice President, Business Aviation, StandardAero. “This innovative Winglet retrofit reduces operating costs and emissions while increasing performance, and when combined with our CompleteCare™ offerings, a customer can receive full nose-to-tail services with much less downtime.”
