Standard Aero to Provide Technical Publications Support to Canadian Forces CC130 Hercules Aircraft

Winnipeg, MB, October 25, 2005 – Standard Aero announced today the award of a significant long term publications contract to its Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) Division located in Winnipeg MB. Canada’s Department of National Defence (DND) has recently announced the award of an Optimized Weapons System Management (OWSM) Contract for the CC130 Hercules Primary Air Vehicle (PAV) to the industry team known as “Herc Solutions”. “Herc Solutions” is a comprehensive partnership of leading “Hercules” community contractors that includes as prime contractor, Cascade Aerospace of Abbotsford B.C, Canada and as partners Marshall Aerospace of Cambridge in the United Kingdom, Derco Aerospace, Milwaukee USA and Standard Aero Limited, Winnipeg MB, Canada.

Our experience and knowledge supplying the Department of National Defence with first-rate paper and interactive electronic technical manuals for the past 20 years can now be applied to support this critical component of Canada’s Air Force.”

The OWSM contract is a long term Government/Industry agreement to provide support for the CC130 Hercules aircraft for a minimum of six years including a six-month implementation period, with optional extensions outward to the Estimated Life Expectancy (ELE) of the aircraft. Herc Solutions in-service contract support responsibilities include aircraft maintenance, program management, engineering, publications and materials support.

Standard Aero will be responsible for the provision of highly structured technical publications support and consultation services that will enhance the CC130 OWSM Program and provide Canada with a “Mission Ready” fleet. Standard Aero’s portion of the contract is worth approximately $8.5 Million CDN over the first six years. As part of the implementation plan, Standard Aero will begin immediately augmenting its Winnipeg, MB and Abbotsford, BC operations by recruiting additional Technical Writers, Illustrators, Programmers, Translators, Editors, Management and Support personnel.
