Winnipeg, MB – June 7, 2006 – Standard Aero, a leading provider of small gas turbine engine services, has expanded the range of services with a five-year agreement covering PT6 engine work with Pratt & Whitney Component Solutions Inc. (PWCS). The agreement includes material purchase arrangements, component repair services, and engine teardown services.
The official signing ceremony between PWCS and Standard Aero was celebrated in the PT6/PW100 facility in Winnipeg. Raffaele Virgili, Director of Aerospace Component Services, represented Pratt & Whitney Canada Corp. (PWC). Rick Cramblet, General Manager, and Kevin Poulin, General Sales Manager, represented PWCS. Standard Aero executives Paul Soubry, President, Lawrence Traa, Vice President PT6, Ian Smart, Vice President Marketing & Business Development, and Kim Laurans, Vice President Operations hosted the ceremony.
“This is another step in providing more material options to PT6 customers,” commented Lawrence Traa, Vice-President of the PT6 business unit. He added, ” We continue to enhance the value and quality of our support to operators through close cooperation with PWCS.”
As a Pratt & Whitney Canada Designated Overhaul Facility, Standard Aero has offered a full range of overhaul, repair and component services for the PT6 engine family since 1990. Through this agreement, idle engines drawn out of the market will provide parts for active engines, ensuring a secure quality source of serviceable material via the PWC aftermarket network. This will allow greater access to quality serviceable material and repaired components to support the PWCS network of customers.
Standard Aero provides overhaul, hot section and major repair services for the GE CF34, the Pratt & Whitney Canada PT6A and PW100 and the Rolls-Royce 250, T56/501D, AE2100 and AE3007 engines. The company has OEM-authorized maintenance facilities in Winnipeg Canada, Maryville TN, San Antonio TX, Tilburg the Netherlands, Sydney NSW, Australia and Singapore.
