Standard Aero First Company To Receive Custom Self Assessment (CSA) Approval Using Internet Communication Option

Winnipeg, MB August 30, 2006 – Standard Aero Limited has qualified for CSA/FAST (Custom Self-Assessment/ Free and Secure Trade program) approval by the Canada Border Services Agency. Standard Aero, the thirty fourth Canadian company, to receive CSA approval since the launch of the CSA program in 2001. Standard will have the capability to expedite imported shipments from the United States to Canada using self assessed custom clearances. As part of CSA, Standard Aero obtained their Partners in Protection certification, which allowed us to be FAST approved. The next step for Standard Aero is accreditation to the United States Customs-Trade Partnership Against Terrorism (C-TPAT) program.

The CSA/FAST certification allows Standard Aero to expedite receipt of shipments over the United States/Canadian Border operationally from all ports 24 hours/7days across Canada. The self-assessed custom clearance will interface with Standard Aero internal business systems, communicating electronic data directly to the Canada Border Services Agency via the Internet gateway. The CSA program offers four methods for companies to transmit their data. Standard Aero is the first CSA Company to use the Internet gateway, an appropriate fit for its business systems and the high tech industry that it operates in.

Kim Laurans, Vice President, Operations, said, “By participating in the Canada Border Service Agency programs, it is another opportunity for Standard Aero to deliver the best value to our customers by allowing us to enhance our performance, efficiency, and responsiveness to the growing market demands.
