StandardAero Completes First Authorized EMEAI Region TFE731 Engine MPI at Fleetlands, U.K. Facility

GENEVA – May 29, 2018 –  In less than four months after being selected as the location for StandardAero’s exclusive Honeywell TFE731 EMEAI region engine heavy maintenance authorization, the company’s Fleetlands, U.K. facility completed its first TFE731 Major Periodic Inspection (MPI).

The Fleetlands facility is located in Gosport, southern U.K.  StandardAero also provides world-class engine maintenance, repair and overhaul and conversions, modifications and refurbishment for a wide range of civil and military helicopters by its teams of highly skilled, cross-trained technicians at Fleetlands.

While new to the TFE731 engine, the Fleetlands team has extensive experience overhauling aircraft engines including Pratt & Whitney Canada PW300 and PT6, Honeywell LF502/507 and Rolls-Royce T56 and M250 engines.

“Our experience servicing a variety of other engines at Fleetlands helped our team to quickly stand up new capabilities for servicing TFE731 engines,” said Marc Drobny, President of StandardAero Business Aviation.  “In a very short timeframe, we were able to get the team trained along with acquiring the tooling, equipment and inventory to service our customers across the region.”

In addition to its Core Zone Inspections (CZIs) and MPIs, StandardAero will be working over the next several months to obtain authorizations to repair TFE731 parts for individual operators as well as other service providers in the region.  StandardAero will also support EMEAI region operators with Mobile Service Teams that can be dispatched to service customers 24/7.

On February 1, 2018, StandardAero announced its Honeywell authorization to be the only maintenance facility, located in the EMEAI region, licensed to perform both CZIs and MPIs.   Additionally, StandardAero is authorized to perform line level maintenance on the 36-series APUs for business aviation aircraft operators in the EMEAI region.  The authorization, is a long-term agreement whereby StandardAero anticipates supporting more than 1,500 MPI & CZI engine events over the contract life.

StandardAero continues to serve as the leading global TFE731 Engine MRO provider with decades of experience servicing nearly 20,000 scheduled maintenance events.
