Landmark Aviation Receives Certification to Install Integrated Flight Information System on Hawker 800XP

Winnipeg, Canada — Landmark Aviation, a Dubai Aerospace Enterprise (DAE) Engineering company, announced today that it has received Supplemental Type Certificate (STC) from the FAA to install the Rockwell Collins Integrated Flight Information System (IFIS) on the Hawker 800XP / 850XP aircraft.

“With this STC, Landmark Aviation expands its breadth of avionics installation and service capabilities for business aircraft,” said Gary Bosemer, Director, Avionics Marketing & Development. “The benefits of the IFIS system offer a crucial step in providing enhanced situational awareness through advanced technology.”

Rockwell Collins’ IFIS offers pilots access to electronic charts, airport diagrams, Notice to Airmen (NOTAM) bulletins, standard instrument departures (SID) and standard terminal arrival routes (STAR). IFIS can be installed as a single or dual system with the optional XM weather sensor, which adds graphical or satellite weather, winds and other strategy information can be displayed.

The system eliminates the need for chart binders and remote-mounted electronic flight bags and as a result of the reduced workload, enhanced situational awareness and improved flight deck organization, pilots can operate the aircraft more safely and efficiently.

Work will be performed at the company’s maintenance, repair and overhaul facilities at Augusta, Ga.; Los Angeles; Springfield, Ill.; and Houston.

Landmark Aviation and Standard Aero, combined by DAE during 2007, together offer 12 primary aircraft service centers and 14 regional support centers in North America, the Netherlands, Singapore and Australia.
