Landmark Aviation Installs Honeywell Primus Epic CDS/R System on Gulfstream III

Tempe, Arizona, — Landmark Aviation announced today that it has completed the installation of a Honeywell Primus Epic CDS/R (Control Display System/Retrofit) avionics system on a Gulfstream III.

The installation at Landmark’s Springfield, Ill., MRO facility included Honeywell’s Mark VII Class A TAWS (Terrain Awareness & Warning System) with RAAS (Runway Awareness & Advisory System), providing pilots with enhanced situational awareness in the air and on the ground.

“Landmark is pleased to deliver another aircraft in our Epic CDS/R program that offers flight crews advanced technology through Honeywell’s integrated avionics suit,” said Gary Bosemer, Avionics Marketing Director. “The Primus Epic system was integrated into the Gulfstream III while retaining the legacy FMS (Flight Management System) and Proline II navigation and communication equipment.”

Flight data is displayed on three large flat-panel liquid crystal displays that consolidate primary flight data, weather, TCAS and TAWS functions. Intuitive operating software offers drop-down menus and the interactive, software based navigation system allows simultaneous display of traffic, terrain and preview pre-selected approaches. Other features include a flexible architecture and system design that provides weight, wire and power savings, as well as fewer Line Replaceable Units (LRU), requiring less maintenance.

Through its aural advisory system, the Honeywell RAAS system enhances situational awareness in an airport environment, including taxiing and landing operations.

Landmark Aviation operates major MRO centers at Springfield; Augusta, Ga.; Los Angeles; Little Rock, Ark.; and Houston. In addition, the company operates six MRO shops at FBO facilities in the U.S.
