Landmark Aviation Expands ‘Mobile Service Team’ Network Throughout North America for Engine, Airframe and Avionics Maintenance and Repairs

NBAA, Orlando, Landmark Aviation today announced the expansion of its Mobile Service Team network, which provides on-site maintenance and repairs for aircraft engines and airframe systems.

The Landmark network has expanded to 14 fully tooled Mobile Service Teams based throughout North America. The service teams, which will initially handle TFE731, CFE738, and HTF7000 engine repairs and other light avionics and airframe maintenance, can quickly travel to aircraft needing repairs anywhere in the world.

“Based on our commitment to deliver more value to our customers and increased demand for on-site engine troubleshooting and repair, we have expanded our service to offer extensive maintenance capability,” said Roger Wolfe, Chief Executive Officer, Landmark Aviation. “Mobile Service Teams will help operators increase utilization and control costs by reducing aircraft down-time and the associated costs of flying an airplane to a remote location for maintenance.”

Greg Laabs, General Manager of Maintenance for Mayo Aviation Inc., said, “When we need engine support for our charter fleet, we expect the fastest turn-times and the best quality. Landmark has always met our expectations for our fleet and as a result, we are teaming together to carry that performance over to the benefit of our maintenance customers. When Landmark meets our extensive needs, it benefits our customers as well.”

Landmark Aviation, previously named Garrett / Piedmont Hawthorne / Associated, has operated a Mobile Service Team at Denver Centennial Airport for three years. The majority of service calls were for U.S. based aircraft. About five percent of the team’s service calls were international.

With increased demand and focus on aircraft utilization and fuel savings by aircraft owners, the Landmark Mobile Service Team strategy aims to deliver on both.

Landmark has widened its North American network to 14 locations from eight, with a focus on aircraft repair services designed to reduce aircraft downtime and improve operating costs by providing service at the customer’s location.

Landmark Mobile Service Teams are based at Teterboro and Morristown, N.J.; West Palm Beach, Fla.; Van Nuys, Calif.; Palwaukee, Wheeling, Ill.; Los Angeles, Houston Hobby Airport; Houston Bush International Airport; Little Rock, Ark.; Dulles, Va.; Westchester/White Plains, N.Y.; Springfield, Ill.; Augusta, Ga.; and Denver.

Initial services to be provided by teams include TFE731, HTF7000 and CFE738 line checks and inspections, engine removal and replacement, computer downloads, harness and DEEC changes, electronic troubleshooting and fan balance, front-end gear box repairs, fan replacement and fan balance, carbon seal replacement, hot end repairs, and line replaceable unit (LRU) exchange and repair.

Airframe services include troubleshooting, minimum equipment list, box exchanges, light repair, parts replacements, and touch-up painting. Avionics services include troubleshooting and box exchanges.
