Scottsdale, Ariz. – November 22, 2017 – StandardAero is proud to announce that four of its employees, Matt Ackroyd, Steve Barrett, Katie Gray and Daniel Walker, have been selected as recipients of Aircraft Maintenance Technology magazine’s 2017 AMT Next Gen ’40 under 40′ award.
Now in its third year, the AMT Next Gen program celebrates forty aircraft maintenance professionals less than 40 years of age who demonstrate the talent, ambition and characteristics of the next-generation aircraft maintenance professional. These forty individuals are selected from hundreds of nominations, based on their initiative, job commitment and contribution to the industry.
Matt Ackroyd, Project Manager with StandardAero’s Aviation Services Business Unit in Gosport, UK, began his nine-year career with the company in 2008 as an Avionics Technician/Supervisor. Since that time, he has served as an Avionics Supervisor Flight Test/Deputy Front Line Manager and a Design and Modifications Project Engineer.

Steve Barrett, Financial Controller at the company’s Summerside, PE, location in Canada, began his career with StandardAero as a Senior Financial Analyst in 2011. Steve served one-year on a secondment to the company’s MRO facility in Brisbane, Australia, training the finance team there on enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems, being appointed as Controller one year after his return to Canada.

Katie Gray, Technical Supervisor at the company’s Component Services facility in Almondbank, Perth, UK, has 10 years of experience in the aerospace MRO industry, having joined StandardAero in 2007 as a Mechanical Aircraft Technician. Earlier this year, Katie was announced as Technician of the Year at the 2017 Semta (Science, Engineering and Manufacturing Technologies Alliance) Skills Awards in the UK.

Daniel Walker, Operations Manager at the StandardAero’s Airlines & Fleets Maryville, Tennessee MRO facility has 15 years of industry experience, having joined StandardAero in 2002 as a Dismantle/Build technician for Rolls-Royce AE 3007 turbofan engines. In 2010, he became the youngest person to fill his current role at StandardAero Maryville at the age of 28.
“Daniel works to ensure the highest industry standards for continued airworthiness of aircraft/engine maintenance,” said Randy Mengel, Vice President & General Manager of the Maryville facility. “His technical capabilities, leadership and experience make him a great nominee for AMT’s award.”
