Associated Air Center Signs 12th BBJ 12-Year Inspection Customer

Tempe, Ariz. – March 18, 2014 – Associated Air Center (AAC), StandardAero’s Large Transport Category VIP completion center in Dallas, Texas, has signed its 12th BBJ 12-year inspection with Star Aviation. In addition to having completed to date 24 “green” BBJ interiors, achieving this heavy maintenance inspection milestone makes AAC the most experienced BBJ completion center in the world.

The work scope for this project includes an airframe overhaul level, 12-year aircraft inspection, in addition to incorporating various avionics FANS upgrades and landing gear overhaul. The project, which began in March, 2014 is expected to be completed by July, 2014.

The Star Aviation BBJ cabin interior was originally outfitted by AAC in 2002 and since that time, this customer has continued to rely on AAC to fulfill regular scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, refurbishment and cabin systems upgrades needs.

In addition, AAC recently redelivered its 11th 12-year check in February of this year. The 11th completion was a comprehensive inspection and refurbishment. The completed workscope included a full cabin refurbishment, replacement of a vintage Cabin Management System (CMS) and In-Flight Entertainment (IFE) systems with the latest Rockwell-Collins Venue™ High Definition Cabin Management System and replacement of an earlier fluorescent and incandescent lighting with the newest LED cabin lighting system. The maintenance also included AAC’s first Nitrogen Generation System (NGS) service bulletin installation. The aircraft landing gear overhaul was also completed during scheduled downtime.
