Geneva, Switzerland – May 21, 2013 – Associated Air Center (AAC), StandardAero’s Large Transport Category VIP Completions Center in Dallas, Texas, is taking a strategic position in managing what has become a robust growth cycle over the past 12 months, beginning with the award of a green Airbus A330-200 VVIP interior completion in April of 2012 and followed up, most recently, with the green delivery of a Boeing 747-8i series aircraft for a Head of State interior completion.
With the growth in customers for both narrow body/wide body completions and maintenance work, AAC has doubled its workforce over the last year to nearly 500 skilled artisans, to accomplish the significant ramp up of customer work scopes.
In addition, the company has and is continuing to expand its facility footprint to accommodate more and larger aircraft in its hangars. This growth and expansion has been driven by successful bids on numerous completion projects that are currently underway in the facilities or scheduled to be delivered in the near future.
“For several years now, we have been actively engaged in re-engineering many of our internal processes to create more workflow capacity and ensure the highest product quality,” said Chris Schechter, Vice President & General Manager, Associated Air Center. “From the development of unique processes expediting turnaround time, to re-evaluating and re-energizing our supplier partnerships, to investments in the latest tooling and our vertically-integrated business model, we have increased our throughput capability and made significant improvements in our product quality. These, coupled with our facility expansion and on-going ramp up in key skill positions, are allowing us to effectively respond to an increase in demand now and well into the foreseeable future.”
