SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. – October 22, 2024 – StandardAero marks the 25th anniversary of its Van Nuys, CA service center with multiple celebrations, both on-site at Van Nuys Airport (VNY) earlier this month, and during the National Business Aviation Association’s Business Aviation Conference & Exhibition (NBAA-BACE) Oct. 22-24 in Las Vegas, NV at StandardAero’s booth #2373.
In 1999, Western Jet Aviation (acquired by StandardAero in 2023) was established at Van Nuys Airport. The US west coast service center’s 25th anniversary is a significant milestone for the site, which specializes in maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) of Gulfstream aircraft.
“Our success is built on the dedication and hard work of our talented employees, and we couldn’t ask for a better team delivering exceptional service to our customers,” said Katie Higgins, Vice President & General Manager of StandardAero VNY. “Since the site was acquired by StandardAero, we’ve completed multiple site improvement projects, and have added a dedicated structures team, providing operators with a whole new level of capability expertise for major structural work.”
StandardAero celebrated the anniversary on-site in Van Nuys on Tuesday, Oct. 8, with employees, customers, and special guests in attendance, including former site owner and founder, Jim Hansen, and Van Nuys Airport staff. The event featured speeches from Higgins and StandardAero Business Aviation President Tony Brancato, both expressing their appreciation for the loyal customers, devoted team and valued partners in Van Nuys who have contributed to its success.
At the Oct. 8 event, Brancato addressed the employees, “Look at these 25 years and all the amazing work that’s been done here. We’re going to take that momentum and drive it forward for the next 25 years and beyond. My compliments to each of you for your commitment—together, we’ll continue to grow and meet our customers’ evolving needs.”
StandardAero’s service center at VNY remains a vital hub for primarily Gulfstream airframe MRO services, providing top-tier maintenance to business aviation operators on the west coast, as well as from a satellite AOG site at Miami-Opa Locka Executive Airport (OPF), enabling coast to coast customer support.
