Geneva, Switzerland – May 17, 2011 – StandardAero announced today that it is strengthening its European Service Center in Tilburg, The Netherlands, to provide maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) services for Pratt & Whitney, PT6, PW100 and PW600 customers.
Following the transition of PW100 overhaul capabilities to Canada, the company turned its attention to realigning the site’s capabilities to become StandardAero’s European Service Center, specializing in PT6, PW600 and PW100 needs in the region. The facility was recently transformed to specifically support in-field service needs, quick turn repairs and Hot Section Inspection needs of the company’s European, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) client base.
According to StandardAero President & CEO, Rob Mionis, “StandardAero is ramping up its efforts in the region to support the increasing demands for quick turn repairs and on-site/on-wing engine services.”
“We have, over the past 12-months, finalized a complete transformation of the Tilburg facilities to solely focus on this expanding need in EMEA. In the future, you will see our efforts in EMEA continue to concentrate on assuring that our customers and partners have the quick response to their on-site and quick turn needs,” Mionis concluded.
The company’s Tilburg facility maintains fully equipped PT6 and PW100 test cells, dedicated field service teams and extensive accessory capabilities, to provide comprehensive support on a regional basis.
“For over two decades, StandardAero has supported the European market,” said Manny Atwal, Vice President, Turboprop Programs, StandardAero. “In 2010, we transitioned the PW100 overhaul operations to Winnipeg, Canada, but maintained our PT6 and PW600 MRO capabilities, tailoring our services to the specific needs of our European customers. By maintaining our presence in Tilburg, we offer customers a cost-efficient service alternative within their own time zone and the avoidance of major shipping costs.”
The company’s Tilburg operation provides European customers the flexibility of a smaller service center with the robustness of a large MRO operation by maintaining dedicated field service teams and large accessory support, while maintaining a fully equipped test cell.
